The University Archives & Special Collections department of Williams Library exists primarily to preserve the history of Northern State University.  In addition to this commitment, the goal is also to serve as a repository for regional history manuscript material.

In order to achieve these goals, University Archives & Special Collections personnel are committed to obtaining, preserving, and making accessible original documents pertaining to NSU history and the surrounding region.

Content within the Northern State University Archives and Special Collections may contain outdated concepts, values, and language that do not reflect those of Williams Library, Northern State University, or its affiliates. Although some may regard certain materials as offensive, the items within the collections are historical in nature and are accessible for education and research purposes.
